It seems that setting the serial line speed to 38400 solved the login
problem. (And setting it up to use PAP?)

Thanks to everyone who offered suggestions!

I can now connect and ping the universe, but Netscape can't seem to find
anything. Even if I try to access my ISP's web site (http:www.cnwl.igs.net),
all I get is an 'empty page' error message from Netscape. What gives?

PS. I guess if I move the 56k modem from my Windows box, I'll have to go
through this mess all over again?
