Well, I don't know what I did. I run Gnome, RH 6.1. What I *thought* I
was doing was simply adding a menu entry for Amaya. However, when I
selected an icon out of the kappfinder directory, I got a core dump on
the Gnome panel. The panel relaunched itself nicely and everything is
fine . . . until I log out of X and go back in.
At this point, my desktop is invaded by a bunch of really silly icons.
They are all controlled by a giant pipewrench icon that calls itself
"Coolicons." I can make them go away by using the Coolicons kill
option, but the little buggers come back the next time I startx.
Locate coolicons gives me nothing. I can't find any reference to it in
my .gnome files. Nothing in startup programs.
Basically, I'm stumped. I assume that Coolicons are a wonderful KDE-ish
thing, but I could be wrong on that. What I can't figure out is why
they keep coming back, even after I exit "saving current
configuration." Are they somewhere in E?
Help, please.
Marc
