POP3 Support?

In trying to set up the LAN here, I want to provide POP3 support to the 
email server on my linux box. As I understand it, the only way to get this 
is through QPopper? Is that the best solution? Are there alternatives? Is 
there good documentation somewhere (online or on paper - I couldn't find 
anything decent in the HowTos)?
