Just out of interest: Did you actually let them know? I think, even if
such stuff isn't malicious, it's usually worthwhile to at least write a
polite mail and point out that their setup isn't quite perfect -
otherwise they'll never learn. I can also see the nice sideeffect that
people might be a tad more aware that the default settings of certains
software packages can be sub-optimal...
