Hi Vidiot,

I had the same problem with a Quantum drive. Since I have lot of stuff
in the box I didn't hear the drive spin. My problem were the female pin
connectors in the drive power cable. Due to a lot of use they "opened"
and didn't "grab" the male power pins of the drive when insterted. These
resulted in a "dead" drive or a clicking noise of the head trying to
park due to powerfailure. The solution was a small screwdriver with
which I "closed" the female pins on the powercord.

Who knows, maybe that's your problem too...?

Zoki.

Due to various Micro$oft moves against basic decency and common sense, I
accept - with a strong protest - MS Office file formats (Word 2 & 6,
Excel 3, 4, 5 & 7) but urge you to stop using them. Alternatives exist!
