this would seem to imply that some modules are of sync; have you rebuilt
your kernel; did you follow the instructions exactly for loading up the
new modules? I don't remember seeing anything like this when I ran
MetroX myself but I don't normally take notice of error messages unless
the thing actually fails... I haven't actually tried MetroX with 5.0,
only 4.2.

Hmm. I vaguely remember having to make a /dev/mouse and link it to
/dev/cua0 (although I could be remembering the /dev/modem to /dev/cua3
link). It could be failing because it can't find the mouse. Have you
got mouse control over your console screen (a text mode pointer)? If
so, this would seem to indicate that Linux is happy with your mouse; if
not you may have a more basic problem.
