Hello,
I'm trying to install Netscape Communicator. But...
I've downloaded a communicator-v405.x86-unknown-linux2.0.tgz, unziped it
and typed just "ns-install". I believed I could install it. But, after
I
run it, it gave me following message:
Segmentation fault(core dumped).
My environment is:
RedHat 5.0
linux-2.0.32
Metro Link, Inc Version 4.1.0/ X Window System.
I found following notes in a README of Netscape Communicator:
Linux:
Incompatibilities with Netscape are known to exist in some
versions of libc. If you think you are experiencing a
libc-related
problem, try downloading a different version of libc from:
http://www.caldera.com/tech-ref/col-1.0/updates.html
or
http://sunsite.unc.edu/pub/Linux/GCC/
If possible, please see the Release Notes for more details.
So, I replaced a libc by one downloaded from
http://sunsite.unc.edu/pub/Linux/GCC/,
but it doesn't run well yet.
Why can't I install Netscape Communicator well?
What do I have to do to install it?
What site is there the information about my problem?
Please give me good advice!
Thanks in advance,
Kunio
