(just a little encouragement) I had *every single one* of these questions to
answer in the first few months of using Linux. It gets really frustrating
sometimes because answering one only means more questions (OK, X finally works, now
what do I DO with it?) But I had special edition's "Using Linux" and a couple of
long weekends, and thus I now (happily) have 10,000 more problems I never knew
about...
What I'm saying is: don't give up too soon. Don't give up at all.
I just got Enlightenment to work, both my parallel printer *and* Zip drive work,
and I successfully recompiled my kernel last weekend. Those are major steps for
me, all because I kept pounding away at the terminal until something made sense.
--wishing luck to all those behind me and bestowing praise and admiration on all
those ahead of me,
Andrew
