I think you may have screwed up your diagram somehow.  You had both
machine A and machine B on the same network, connected to the same hub.
If this is what you wanted, then something else is wrong.

A more concise diagram next time will help as well.  Something like:

                router --- Machine A --- Machine B

Assuming you did make a mistake, and A and B are not on the same network,
be sure you have the router's network as your default route on B.
