Agreed. > We use Suse at work here and the professional version is like about $70 > bucks. The question will be is the extra $100+ worth it? Even more expensive if you're looking at going from RHL + RHN basic to RHEL "ES" or "AS". > Most firms are not going to look at the fedora choice seeing it as a > bleeding edge desktop style distro. I think there needs to be something like this as well - something between Fedora and the Enterprise offerings, although I think a boxed set is optional. Something with a ~1 year release/support cycle, a little more mature than Rawhide and less costly than RH's Enterprise offerings. Something, in short, like what many of us were probably expecting when RH announced their "community" releases beginning with RH9. Perhaps Fedora will live up to and exceed these expectations - time will tell. My plan *was* to continue using the RHL releases coupled with RHN basic subscriptions to keep my clients & servers current. I looked at purchasing the "basic" edition RH's ES line, but at $350/year per server that's currently out of my price range, so I went with several RHN basic subscriptions. Since these subscriptions don't expire until next year, I'm going to adopt a "wait and see" stance for now. I'll experiment with the Fedora releases and see what comes of all these changes. -Eric -- Eric Sisler <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Library Applications Specialist Westminster Public Library Westminster, CO USA Linux - Don't fear the Penguin.
