The only surefire way I know of to remove the Ximian Desktop is to do a fresh reinstall of Red Hat. Otherwise, you'll need to go through one by one and remove all of the Ximian packages and replace them with the original GNOME packages.
I suggest going to the Ximian lists and asking them. The question has come up there every now and then as well. Giacomo Bosio said: >> You do not have to remove it.
