There are a number of factors that you'll need to consider. Obviously, using MailScanner does impact the throughput. You can tailor the load a little by adjusting the number of MailScanner instances you have running and changing the # of messages each will scan. SpamAssassin puts a big load on the box especially if you're using a number of RBLs and checking DCC, razor, and pyzor. The virus scanning doesn't seems to add that much. By the way, I suggest you use two or three different virus scanners if possible. When a new virus hits sometimes a scanner's data files aren't updated as fast as you might want. Running multiple scanners helps. You really should ask these questions on the MailScanner list. There are people there who are administering all types of hardware processing up to 100k emails (or more) per day. I'm just running a little home system! They will want to know what hardware you're using, the number emails/day, and what you see for peaks. -- Gerry "The lyfe so short, the craft so long to learne" Chaucer -- redhat-list mailing list unsubscribe mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
