One of my friends accidentally remove her /var/lib/rpm folder entirely
when she found out that her rpm sucked at some point, instead of simply
removing the /var/lib/rpm/__db*

Now the problem is how to get back this database! rpm --initdb followed by
rpm --rebuilddb doesn't seem to work since rpm -qa is totally blank.

Funny thing is her synaptic/apt still know which packages are
installed. But the rpm thing can't remember anything.

Any idea how to get that whole thing back?

regards,

Didier
