Mike,
I'm running Redhat 7.2.  Also, I get these errors on the .so files on
several packages, particularly the kde updates.  Due to some of the
rules where I work, I cannot run the up2date, so I have to do the
updates manually.  :(  Thanks to everyone who has offered tips and
advice so far!
