Troubled RH9

I am having some severe problems with RH9, after my initial install 
things appeared to be okay, but when I tried to execute some KDE apps, I 
get segmentation faults, when I try to compile an application, 
everything appears okay but when I try to execute an app I get 
segmentation faults, XMMS, realplayer, Open Office I get segmentation 
faults the only thing that works is the GNOME desktop.  Should I 
downgrade back to RH 8 or do you suggest I reinstall?  You may send me 
private e-mail or post to the list with any suggestions.
