Yes, I have a Maxtor 8.4 gig drive, probably the same model as you, on a
news server we are running. I do get the timeout errors as follows:
Apr 19 08:34:06 sulu kernel: hda: irq timeout: status=0xd0 { Busy }
Apr 19 08:34:06 sulu kernel: hda: disabled DMA
Apr 19 08:34:06 sulu kernel: ide0: reset: success
The machine is running RH5, kernel 2.0.32 with latest updates. The
motherboard is an Acer AP5VM with an Intel 150MHz CPU, and the NIC is a
3com 3c905. I would like to find a solution to this as well, because it
sometimes causes the machine to crash.
Incedentally, I have replaced more Western Digital drives in the past few
months than any other...
