I came to the realization this morning that one of the servers I have inherited has a lot of crap on it that I really do not want on it.
Specifically, X windows and it appears gnome as well.
This server is our PDC so im a little baffled as to why the previous admin installed X on this setup...
Anyway, here is what I wanted to ask:
What is the best way to remove all the X window packages and any gnome or KDE related packages safely from the server?
I have to be very careful since this is our PDC so I dont want to botch anything and screw up the system.
Anyone have any recommendations on the best way of going about it?
I have never removed a ton of packages at one time. Normally it is a couple here and there, but for this setup, I came for some reinforcements.
Thanks for your help.
