I have not had to use the bsd_comp module for quite a while. I believe it
has been replaced with ppp_deflate. Are you sure you have not enabled
bsd_comp somewhere in your ppp configs?

If you absolutly have to use the bsd_comp module, then you will probably
have to re-compile the kernel and enable the BSD_COMPRESS option. I don't
think RH enables this module by default anymore.

Nope that's fine Steve, I DO have a ppp_deflate.o module so the relevant modules.conf line should fix it (will know for sure by tomorrow).

You know how it is! Work it out way back in 7.x series, make a note 'remember to put the bsd_comp' in modules.conf so this is what you do.

Then 9 comes along and it doesn't work. Google still mentions bsd_comp so you think there's something wrong at YOUR end.

Then friendly Steve comes along, tells you what has changed since your notes were made, you heed his advice, and edit the notes from years ago.

:)

Thanks Steve.

Regards,
Ed.
