I have not had to use the bsd_comp module for quite a while. I believe it
has been replaced with ppp_deflate. Are you sure you have not enabled
bsd_comp somewhere in your ppp configs?

If you absolutly have to use the bsd_comp module, then you will probably
have to re-compile the kernel and enable the BSD_COMPRESS option. I don't
think RH enables this module by default anymore.
