I want to backup on a DLT tape drive, for example, the /usr filesystem without backing up any filesystems mounted below it.

Hi everyone!
I'm a IBM AIX and Compaq Tru64 Unix administrator and I've installed a RedHat Linux 8.0 on a Intel server for tests.
I have some doubts and I'm looking for responses.
What is the backup technology recommended by RedHat? Following my experience with Tru64, I was considering using dump/restore, but it's "not recommended" by RedHat manual. May someone help me?
