Hi there, In order to print from my computer I have to connect to a samba share.
If I do this at the command prompt, using something along the lines of: smbclient //this.is.my.server/sharename -A /home/al/.ieg.creds where .ieg.creds contains: username = UN password = PASSWORD domain = MYDOMAIN It works fine (I can 'put' postscript files onto the printer and lo and behold, they appear), but if I use the printconf-gui utility to set up a print queue that I can use from random applications, it is "Unable to connect to SAMBA host, will retry in 60 seconds...." I noticed that after using the "wizard" to set up things like username, it changed the workgroup I entered (MYDOMAIN) to "is" (the second bit of the server name). So I changed this back to MYDOMAIN. I have also tried changing the Queue Type options to: Share: sharename Server hostname or IP address: this.is.my.server Workgroup: MYDOMAIN User: UN Password: PASSWORD Along with a few variations such as: Share: //this.is.my.server/sharename Server...: Workgroup: User: MYDOMAIN/UN Password: PASSWORD But I just can't get it to work... can anyone throw any light on the subject? Many thanks in advance, Al P.S. Oh, I'm using RH9 by the way, in case it makes a difference -- redhat-list mailing list unsubscribe mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
