Yes, I do unplumb and plumb hme0 several times. All configuration files are setup correctly.
Ifconfig -a command shows it is up. Does this mean NIC card is good? Look at /etc/defaultrouter to make sure the value is the good one. You could also tried to do a ifconfig hme0 unplumb, ifconfig hme0 plumb and then set again the ip address. Good luck Yanick -----Original Message----- From: Nguyen, David M [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 29 May, 2003 13:04 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Solaris support question I am supporting SUN Solari8. Does anyone know how to determine if Ethernet interface card (hme) is bad and if the kernel is bad? After I configure interface card using ifconfig, it shows the interface is UP but I could not ping or telnet to remote hosts. I know this list is for Red Hat but I could not find any mailing list for Solaris so I hope someone here can help me out or provide me a mailing list for SUN Solaris.
