If you are the type of person who wants free updates and don't care what you use then you should look into apt. It has things that are better and things that are worse than RHN. It's worth evaluating to see which suits you better.
FreshRPMS has the apt package in RPM and a list of repositories. http://apt.freshrpms.net My favorite thing is that I can build my own RPMS and host my own repository for it. You need RHN proxy server to do that with RHN $$$. The big downside is there is no web interface like RHN it's all managed from the clients.
