You need an "account". You *do not* need a subscription. If you have a subscription you will not get rejected during periods of high usage. If you read the "fine print" on RHN you'll find that everyone in entitled to a DEMO account. This gives you the right to use up2date on a single system. RH will send you a "query" from time to time to make sure you are still using the account. If you don't respond, your account is terminated. Not a biggie.....since if that happens you simply re-register.
