I have a problem with the sound on my system ( - I'm using Red Hat Linux 8.0). When KDE starts iget a message saying : '/dev/dsp - no such device' and is telling me that is going to use /dev/null. I have no sound card on the PCI; the sound chip is integrated on the mainboard ( Mercury KT 266A - Via 8233 ). I have tried to use sndconfig, but it doesn't work (' /lib/modules/kernel/..../drivers/sound-slot-o failed '). Does anyone know how can I fix this! If so, please tell me!
