FWIW: The "proper" sendmail.mc way to make this change is to add the
following to your sendmail.mc file...

define(`confDOMAIN_NAME', `mail.mydomain.com')dnl

which will make the same change to the sendmail.cf as described in the
previous reply (once you recreate your sendmail.cf using m4).
