That satisfies #1 (we managed to get that to work late last night). What we are beating on now is #2.

Edit /etc/sysctl.conf to add a line like this:
net.ipv4.ip_forward = 1
Then restart networking:
service network restart
When you dial in your winbox should be able to access the LAN.
