On monday, as part of my quest for a fix to the BRU/Date problem, I
upgraded my glibc at the suggestion of one of the posts...

glibc-2.0.7-6.i386.rpm

Didn't notice, but shortly thereafter my PAM entries into /var/log/messages
started getting garbled...

So, reading the errata page I noticed I should also upgrade:

              amd-920824upl102-11.i386.rpm
              portmap-4.0-8.i386.rpm
              texinfo-3.12-1.i386.rpm

Which I have done... but the problem still seems to be there...

I even went so far as to reboot the system...

Anyone have an idea what's mucked up?
