I am a Linux semi newbee and have installed Redhat 8 along with
apache and SSL. The thing is, when I SSL into the server (via tera
term ssl) and su, commands like shutdown and ifconfig are not
avaliable. I can however log into the box on the terminal and run
these commands logged in as root only. I realize that linuxconf is
not even there but is there something I can do about these command
privs???
Thanks!
Nevermind......The problem was no aliases for the command ifconfig,
I have to enter /sbin/ifconfig or /sbin/shutdown or I need to create
aliases
duh...
Well...here we go again with the dumb questions......
I am tring to create an alias for the command ifconfig,
alias ifconfig=/sbin/ifconfig
when I leave root user and go back to root, the alias I created is gone.
Help!!
