Others have pointed you at the linux HA stuff but I just wanted to point out that you didn't nessisarily need to use RHAS in order to use the clustering software that comes with it. clumanager and the patched kernel that AS use are available as SRPMS that you can build and install on more pedestrian versions of redhat. That said... if you're going to go live with the cluster on something that counts.. I'd definitiy pay the dosh for a redhat supported version.
