Hi group, This was posted earlier, but I guess nobody saw it.
I've the following problem, using the KDE packet-manager, I started the install of the Gnome-desktop and the MySQL-server. During the install I got a message it needs more Gnome-thingies so I decided to cancel the install and removed the Gnome-desktop from the list (by unchecking it), leaving only the MySQL-server to install. When it was ready, I rebooted the system (I know, only Windows needs that) and from there on it goes wrong. It automaticly boots to runlevel 5 (as always, so far so good), flashes the screen a couple of times and then I get the next message: 'INIT: Id "x" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes' Result, I can't get into my shell. Even VNC doesn't work anymore, that is, I get a grey display now. So, what went wrong and more important, how to fix it again???
