I hit Ctrl-Alt F2, and get a text based login
I login under the account I created,...then what?
I typed ifconfig, and route, still bad command.
Am I logging on under the wrong account?
I tried administrator and the password I chose for root access, but it
doesn't work.

Ctrl-Alt F2 will give you another login. The security setting GUI has a
bug. Its stuck on high but it does make the changes.
