I'm running windowmaker and my window manager using esd for my sound output. If go into gnome-control-center, preferences, sound, and tick 'sound for events' and now if I restart galeon or gabber (the only two gtk apps I use) I have sound now - woo how. :)
But... if i log out and log back in I no longer have sound for these apps. If I open up the control center again the 'sound for events' is already ticked but I need to untick and retick it in order to get sound again. Now... when i was googling to find out how to get sound for gabber in the first place i did see someone mention a problem like this in passing... but it wasn't what I was looking for at the time so I dind't read it. Be damned if i can find the refernece now though. :) Anyone got any hints or ideas here? M. P.S. Some rpm versions... redhat-release-8.0-8 control-center-2.0.1-8 WindowMaker-0.80.1-1 esound-0.2.28-1 ... but they're prolly really that relevent since exaclty the same things happens on my 7.3 box as well. -- WebCentral Pty Ltd Australia's #1 Internet Web Hosting Company Level 5, 100 Wickham St. Network Operations - Systems Engineer PO Box 930, Fortitude Valley. phone: +61 7 3249 2552 Queensland, Australia 4006. pgp key id: 0x900E515F -- redhat-list mailing list unsubscribe mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?subject=unsubscribe https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
