I know there probably isn't a yes/no answer to this question and I
won't really know until I try it. Realizing this, I would like the
opinions of the Linux gurus. Are there any known incompatibilities with
the following system I plan to load RH Linux 5.0 on:
266 Mhz Pentium CPU
Asus P2L97 motherboard
64MB SD RAM (2 x 32MB DIMM)
ATI 3D Xpression 4MB video card
DLINK DE-530 CT+ NIC (NT recognizes this as a DEC PCI Ethernet DECchip 21041)
6.4GB Fujitsu Ultra DMA HDD
Logitech mouse
No sound card or other adapters. No dual boot. This is to be a
dedicated Linux system. I'm mostly concerned with the video card and the
NIC. I note that RH lists DEC 2104* network cards on their compatibility
list, so that will *probably* work. The ATI video card may be a bit too
new. Any thoughts on all this will be appreciated.
Regards, Paul
