I just bought some new components and am having trouble. I will likely try to narrow down the possible sources this weekend, but I could still use some help. I tried to do a fresh install of Redhat 8.0 and everything moved at a snail's pace (it took well over an hour to install everything).
I'm thinking that the problems could possibly be: - Raid related (I think my mother board has raid, but I don't know how to disable it or anything, I'm certainly not using it). - bad memory??? - bad CPU??? Here is what I have in the box: Motherboard: Asus A7N8X DX CPU: AMD xp1700 (I think this is a 1.5GHz chip) Hard drive: 60G Maxtor 7200rpm. Video: Geforce4 CDRW: Sony Memory: 256M DDR (2700??) Any thoughts? I guess tonight I'm going to try swapping components with my working machine and see if I can narrow down the problem.
