yep, I am running Metro-X (amazing what you can find when you really read
the book :-) ). anyway, I can't shut down the configx. I am wondering, if
I should just start this thing all over again as I have not even completed
the original install. The stupid thing is that my keyboard is not locked
up, I can get around with the tab key and make the changes where I want to.
I just can't close it down to continue with the install.
Gee Wallly are we having fun yet!!!!>>>>>??????
Thanks
Jeff

Did you go through a "blue screen" install? Are there tabs at the top
left of the config dialog? If so, it's Metro-X [not that you probably
feel better for knowing that, but .....:>]

As far as making the change for the mouse, I

Naah. A couple other things to try.
a] have you tried both <alt> keys? Sometimes the install routines can be
sensitive to which key is pressed.

b] Once I got in a hurry and clicked the mouse before the splash screen
displayed and the mouse and kb froze. You might try restarting the config
and waiting [it's ~120 seconds on my P200] to be sure you get the MetroX
splash screen displayed [it'll have an "okay" button]. If that works and
you can get into the config setup, along the top of the window should be a
scrollbox with Mousetype and another one with Mouse port. Be sure that
both are set appropriately [e.g., Microsoft [serial] or PS2] and [/dev/??]

Sorry for the imprecise directions but I'm not using MetroX and have a
fuzzy memory about how exactly the screen is laid out. Be aware that the
setup routine pays no attention to the mouse setup done during the first
part of the install - no clue as to why it's done that way, but that may be
part of what's causing you some frustration.

Anyway - try the above and let me know what happens.

cheers
S.
