O.K. color me newbe for Linux, I am not sure what x-windows this is, I am
using the RedHat package.  As far as making the change for the mouse, I have
changed it per your suggestion, but I can not close the config. screen, this
is where the install is at now but with no mouse and no <alt> key I feel
that I am at a dead end.  Should I just do a cold boot and try to go from
there.

No clues about Cybex Pers Comm, but it sounds as if your X setup doesn't
reach the mouse.  I'm not sure which X server you're using, it may be
trying to reach the mouse via /dev/ttyS0.  If you can find the X config
try changing it to /dev/mouse.
