i've been happy with linux so far and had not had to catch up with this list. so i
don't know if this question was asked.

here's my problem:

my current redhat 4.2 system has 64Megs of ram. i upgraded to 128Megs of ram.
then i started to get this error:

messages:Mar 31 01:03:13 mybox kernel: EXT2-fs error (device 03:03): ext2_find_e
ntry: bad entry in directory #147458: rec_len %  != 0 - offset=500, inode=147480
, rec_len=26, name_len=16

the machine is:
128M ram
200Mhz K6
Auss VX97 motherboard
Adaptec 2940UW (with bios 1.3)
IBM UW hard drive.

the ram are 32 Megs (4) EDO SIMMS

i have another machine with almost the same hardware except it doesn't have SCSI, it
just has a 2 gig IDE drive. i need to find a free bus logic card just to make sure
it's not the adaptec card that's screwy.

any help would be appreciated.
