Hi all;
Background:
Building yet another Linux server from a recycled 486. I am
using a Maxtor IDE 4.3GB hard drive that uses an over-lay
software from Microhouse to enable this old, unupgradable BIOS
to read more than 528MB-hard drive.
This software inserts its own bios to enable the drive.
Questions for this list:
Is there any reason I shouldn't need this software for a RHL5.0 install?
Where might I locate documentation on specific partition requirements for
a RHL5.0 install?
Symptoms:
No dos partitions, only Linux. Set up first partition as a Large root
partition
and second partition is set up as swap partition ONLY. When I reboot after
the install I get: LI ... that's all! Cannot make boot disks, system
complains
that it cannot mount the floppy drive.
Thanks for any and all assistance. If I have over looked something.. (I'm
against a
wall and a deadline) please forgive this intrusion.
