This is my complaint about the RPM system that currently exists. A RPM
is placed on the Redhat site, with no update list that tells you what you
need to install first. At least with places like Sun, when you install a
patch, the readme file that comes with the patch tells you of any other
patches that need to be installed first (if any).
As for this case, I force updated all of the library packages, because
when I tried to update them, the RPM program complained about dependencies
of other programs. It is a catch-22 situation and the only cure I know is
to ram the update RPMs down the throat of the system. Not a pretty sight.
So far nothing has complained about it being broken. I'm sure something is.
