        [PT] Yeah, you will most likely have to backup and reinstall.
        No so bad if all of your files are in /home.  The installation
        is really quick for me.  I would just be more worried about
        backing up the files that I changed.  I think that the partition
        utilities like fips are meant for DOS FAT-16 filesystems.

        [PT]  I currently use 50M for /, 30M for /var, 500M /usr,
        400M /home and about 60M for swap.  I would recommend
        a separate /var partition since all logging is done there.  So
        if it fills up, it won't bring your system down.  The only
        thing that I would do differently so far is to take some
        space away from /home and put it in /usr.

        to keep the GNU software separate from the rest of the
