Hi all,

well I'm new to Linux and I tried to print with my printer...but it does not
work properly. I've read the HOWTO but I do not understand all about it...

So how does printing work in RH?

As I understand it:

printtool is a frontend to lpr....?
printtool uses filters in its list that come with ghostscript...? And if not
where does printtool takes the filters/drivers from?
I've udated to gs 5.10 and it supports my printer (NEC p2plus) with a unidriver
or something like this.
After the upgrade some of the printers disappeared in printtool...?!?
So how will I involve the uniprint filter from gs to printtool...?
And which settings do I need for ASCII?
Can someone help...? Is somebody using a NEC printer and can sendme the
settings?

TIA and greetings

Jacek
