If you already have it set up and working to dial up WITH the netcfg
tool, then do this...
cd /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts
./ifup ppp0
That's all :) It runs the same script the netcfg tool does, from a
prompt, gets you connected and all of that. Personally after I'm
connected I uncomment the following line from my crontab...
15,30,45,59 * * * * /sbin/tracroute infinite.nu >/dev/null
This creates some data every 15 minutes to keep my ISP from hanging up
on me. Not very nice but, well, it's my isp, and I gave myself a
dedicated line for this, just don't want to turn off the timeout in case
someone else uses my line :)
