  I suppose every now and then, we'd get the same questions popping up on the
mailing list ... :=)

  Use netcfg to configure the scripts, confg files, etc. Then do

        /sbin/ifup ifcfg-ppp0

to connect, and

        /sbin/ifdown ifcfg-ppp0

to disconnect ... Works for normal (non-root) users too if you've got your
configuration rite!
