Hmm, didn't seem to work. I still am presented with a Windows NT/Windows 98 boot menu. I booted from the install disks as you suggested, mounted /dev/hdb1 on /mnt (this drive is dedicated to Linux, Hda1 is NT/98). Now, I tried a couple of things. First, I tried your command, then I tried some variations of it, but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions? -------------------------------------------- Jeff Richmond Systems Administrator Sharp Labs of America 5750 NW Pacific Rim Blvd. Camas, Washington 98607 (360) 817-8463 Phone (360) 817-8436 Fax -------------------------------------------- -----Original Message----- From: Sam Ockman [SMTP:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, March 05, 1998 11:23 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: LILO Reboot with an emergency floppy (you do have one right...well, you can use the red hat installation disks...) Mount your main Linux partitions off of /mnt. Type ROOT=/mnt /mnt/sbin/lilo There you go. -Sam On Thu, Mar 05, 1998 at 11:09:25AM -0800, Richmond, Jeff wrote: > I'm sure this has been asked and answered a million times, but does > someone have a quick method for recovering LILO after a Windows 95 > installation (Windows 98 in my case)? -- Samuel Ockman | Work Linux? | VA Research Director of Software | Work with us. | Proud Corporate (650) 934-3666 ext. 133 | e-mail jobs@ | Sponsor of Guerilla | varesearch.com | Linux Development -- PLEASE read the Red Hat FAQ, Tips, Errata and the MAILING LIST ARCHIVES! http://www.redhat.com/RedHat-FAQ /RedHat-Errata /RedHat-Tips /mailing-lists To unsubscribe: mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] with "unsubscribe" as the Subject. -- PLEASE read the Red Hat FAQ, Tips, Errata and the MAILING LIST ARCHIVES! http://www.redhat.com/RedHat-FAQ /RedHat-Errata /RedHat-Tips /mailing-lists To unsubscribe: mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] with "unsubscribe" as the Subject.
