I appreciate the input, this has added a bit to my insight, but still no busmouse..!!!

When it boots:

"Logitech mouse detected, using IRQ 5", but it still defaults to the serial as soon
as I plug it in (it's not plugged in when I power up/boot)...

tried IRQ 4 and 3 as well...

Do I need to add a line in conf.modules ?? Where do I disable the serial mouse and
enable my busmouse...? Is serial mouse written into the kernel somewhere..?

PLEASE...!!!!!!!

Thanks guys, Mike

Hi Mike..I use a microsoft bus mouse on this linux box. I had to append a
statement in lilo.conf to get the mouse to work. Something like this:
boot=/dev/fd0
compact
install=/boot/boot.b
map=/boot/map
prompt
timeout=150
image=/boot/vmlinuz
append="bmouse=9"
root=/dev/hda3
The mouse uses irq 9. Cheers..
