I know that a large number of apps were developed on Unix/Linux especially the Packet
gateways that you use to send packet messages around the world using hamradio only
links. I will try to find some links to give you more info. There are tons of
directionfinding, propagation and other programs written for Unix as well because it
is a more friendly environ for a programmer..

Subject: Hi

Hi ,

In your posting to the Redhat list , u mentioned about ham radio . I have
never in my life used a ham radio , but i would like to know whether you
can connect the Ham Radio to your PC running Linux and then be able to
communicate . Could u tell what max. speed can be acheived ie. bps , in
this way ?? Also an approximate cost of a very basic ham radio ..
Thanx .

Kind Regards
