Hello everyone We seem to have cropped up a strange problem with our networking on one of ourclient systems. They have a dedicated PPP connection to us (over standard modem) coming off a firewall/router Red Hat 5.0 linux box. The Firewall Linux box also has 2 ethernet cards in it delivering data to 2 subnets - one a private c-class (behind the firewall) and another to a DMZ. It seems that when ever another inetd session is running (popd, etc) all other activity stops. The box cant be ping'd from the far side of the PPP connection, but can be from inside. It looks very much like the box is thrashing its hard disk, but this is not the case - its load is about .05 and has a fair bit left in it. Does anyone know what this might be? Its running 2.0.32 and 90% of all errata updates from RedHat so there shouldnt be any bugs in it - we are usuing the same configuration on about 50 of our client systems. Any help would be greatly appreciated Regards Adam -------------------------------------------------- IPAX Systems Melbourne, Australia National Systems Manager Ops Tel: 03 - 9887-1984 Ops Fax: 03 - 9801-8533 Web Site http://www.ipax.com.au -------------------------------------------------- -- PLEASE read the Red Hat FAQ, Tips, Errata and the MAILING LIST ARCHIVES! http://www.redhat.com/RedHat-FAQ /RedHat-Errata /RedHat-Tips /mailing-lists To unsubscribe: mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] with "unsubscribe" as the Subject.
