The elegance of simplicity: I love it. Thanks for the quick solution. I'm
wondering if these can be placed in users config files someplace and be
effective--or maybe some
system config files. I just compiled kernel 2.0.34 and now I can't startx
without being root, so I am using xdm. Anyway thanks.

Question 1 is still open. Is there any way to configure so I can log in as
a different user in X without first logging out and without opening a root
window. In reality there is only one console but I have different users
with different emails, configs, etc.

Thanks

Gree

A must type "xhost +" first, then B must type "export DISPLAY=hostname:0"
