Yes, I have a linux box using dyn.ml.org. First, go and get you an account
at http://members.ml.org (go to new user signup) and follow all those
directions. Then, when your account is activated, go to members.ml.org
again and go to "user login" or whatever (the page is down at the moment so
I can't give you exact details) and find the line that says /dyndns and
click on FAQ. Find the link that goes to the clients page and pick up
MLDDC. It is a program that will update the database with your current IP
number. You write a file like this:
mousehole
username
password
name it whatever you want (mine is mymldata, the default name) and run this
command:
mlddc < mymldata > /dev/null 2>&1
remove the >/dev/null 2>&1 if you want to see the message confirming that
the database was updated. I have the above line in my /etc/ppp/ip-up script.
Hope that helps!
